Luna is a simple budgeting app designed for beginners who want to track spending, manage accounts, and build savings habits without complexity. In this update, we share new features like accounts, savings goals, and where we are at now.
Luna is still in development, but things are starting to take shape in a meaningful way. Over the past few months, we’ve been focused on turning a simple idea: stress-free money tracking into something real, usable, and genuinely helpful.
Here’s a look at what’s been happening behind the scenes.

Why simple budgeting apps matter
Managing money shouldn’t feel like a second job, but for many people, it does. Traditional budgeting tools are often packed with complex features, financial jargon, and overwhelming dashboards that make it harder to get started.
That’s where Luna comes in
By focusing on the essentials: tracking income, monitoring spending, and setting clear goals. Luna aims to remove the friction that stops people from building good financial habits. Instead of needing to “learn finance,” users can just start.
For beginners especially, this matters. The easier it is to log a transaction or check your progress, the more likely you are to stay consistent. And consistency is what actually leads to better money habits over time.
Luna is being built around this idea: keep things clear, reduce overwhelm, and help people feel in control of their money from day one.
A More Realistic Way to Track Your Money

One of the biggest steps forward is the introduction of Accounts.
Instead of treating your finances as one big pool, you can now represent your real-world setup—whether that’s your current account, savings, or anything else. This makes Luna feel much closer to how people actually manage money day-to-day.
Alongside that, we’ve added a screen to view all your transactions, making it easier to explore and understand your spending in one place.
Savings Goals That Keep You Moving

Saving money is one thing but sticking to it is another.
Luna now includes a dedicated savings goal system, letting you create, edit, and track progress toward your goals. Whether it’s building an emergency fund or saving for something exciting, you can now see your progress clearly.
For now, the Free tier includes up to 2 active goals, keeping things simple while still useful.
Better Foundations, Better Experience
A lot of work has gone into improving the overall experience in subtle but important ways:
- More reliable and user-friendly transaction handling
- Improved reports experience and data loading
- Better feedback when there’s no data (so you’re never stuck wondering what’s going on)
- Smoother interactions across the app
Where This Leaves Us
Luna is still pre-launch, but it’s moving closer to being a complete, usable product.
We now have:
- A solid foundation for tracking money
- A clearer structure for free vs paid features
- A more polished and approachable experience
And most importantly, everything is being built around a single idea:
Money shouldn’t feel overwhelming.
There’s still more to come, but the direction is clear and Luna is starting to feel like something people can genuinely rely on.
